“We’re excited to build on the momentum of this segment and continue deepening our practices, measuring our impact, and holding ourselves accountable to real, meaningful change. ”
We’re proud to announce that Overture recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion-focused Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid episode, was distributed to more than 180 public television stations throughout the United States, reaching 60 million households throughout the year. This national platform gave us the opportunity to share our story and highlight the intentional, ongoing work we do to foster a diverse and inclusive culture, not only within our own walls, but also throughout the promotional marketing industry.
A Moment of Reflection
At Overture, DE&I is not just a program or initiative; it’s a mindset that shapes every aspect of our business. From how we hire and support our team members to the partnerships we cultivate and the way we serve our clients and communities, DE&I is ingrained in our practices at Overture.
Filming the Viewpoint segment was more than just a moment in the spotlight; it was a chance to celebrate the collective effort of our team and recognize the progress we’ve made. As mentioned in the segment, DE&I practices at Overture are woven into the fabric of our operations, guided by a belief that when people feel seen, valued, and respected, great things happen.
DE&I in Action at Overture
Our DE&I strategy is rooted in action. We strive to ensure that everyone, from employees to suppliers, has equal access to opportunity, voice, and growth. Some of the key ways we bring this to life include:
- Inclusive Hiring Practices: We continually refine our recruiting strategies to reach diverse talent pools and minimize bias in our hiring processes.
- Ongoing Education and Dialogue: We create space for conversations, training, and learning experiences that challenge assumptions and foster deeper understanding, requiring quarterly DE&I training for all staff.
- Supplier Diversity: We actively support minority-owned businesses as an element of our vendor partnerships, striving for year-over-year increases in our diverse supplier spend.
- Employee-Led Initiatives: Our Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council (DIAC) is at the heart of our DE&I work, regularly encouraging grassroots leadership and collaboration around inclusive practices and events.
The Viewpoint segment allowed us to shine a light on these efforts and show how they contribute to a more equitable and engaged workplace culture.
The Power of Representation
This featured segment gave our message greater reach, but more importantly, it reminded us that stories of inclusion and equity need to be told. Representation matters, not only in relation to who is at the table, but also when it comes to whose voices are heard. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our voice on this national stage, and we hope it encourages other companies in our industry and beyond to continue advancing their own DE&I journeys.
What’s Next
Our work is far from done. DE&I is an ongoing commitment, and we recognize that it requires continuous effort, listening, and adaptation. We’re excited to build on the momentum of this segment and continue deepening our practices, measuring our impact, and holding ourselves accountable to real, meaningful change.
